Dinah goes to Kijabe

Dinah was born with many complications and despite the fact that she spent the first two years of her life at a hospital she never received the surgeries or care that she needed.

Dinah has spina bifida, which has not been corrected, but the doctors do not think that it can be corrected right now because it will be a long surgery and they don’t think that her body can withstand the anesthesia. Her legs are paralyzed because of the damage to her spine caused by the spina bifida. She also has CTEV (Club foot) on both legs that need to be corrected to increase her circulation to prevent her from getting pressure sores that can cause many complications due to her lack of sensation. Despite all of her challenges Dinah has a great personality with the best little laugh you will ever hear.

A few weeks ago we took her down to Cure Hospital in Kijabe to have an operation on both legs. Dinah is terrified of hospitals and doctors because of her past and gets very uneasy. She was a little trooper and the staff of Cure Hospital made her very comfortable during her stay. The operation was a success and we are looking forward to seeing the results in a few weeks when she gets her casts off.
